Fareham MP Suella Fernandes chaired the first Fareham Schools Debating competition held at Fareham College. Schools from across the Borough took part in the competition with entries from Boundary Oak, Brookfield Community, Cams Hill, Fareham Academy, Henry Cort Community College and Portchester Community all invited to participate.
Suella congratulated the entries on Facebook saying
"Congratulations to all debaters who took part in my Debating Competition today at Fareham College. Superb quality of debate and argument by all Fareham school teams, and well done to the winning team from Portchester Community School. Thanks to Editor of The Portsmouth News, Mark Waldron, Principal of Fareham College, Nigel Duncan and Mayor of Fareham, Cllr Connie Hockley who judged the competition."
The winning team, Portchester Community School, have won the fantastic prize of an exclusive tour of the Houses of Parliament as well as tickets to Prime Minister’s Questions.
