On Sunday the 8th of November the Borough's annual Remembrance Sunday service will be taking place at Holy Trinity Church in Fareham.
Prior to this year's service, Fareham Borough Council has organised a special reading of the names of those who lost their lives whilst serving their country. This "Forever Remembered" event will take place from 10am at the memorial at the front of the church in West Street, Fareham.
Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Conservative Councillor Seán Woodward, said: "It is an honour to pay tribute to the members of the armed forces who paid the ultimate sacrifice whilst fighting for our country and to read their names out is a fitting way to remember them. I would also like to again recognise that the origin of the original suggestion to read out the names of our war dead was made to me a few years ago by the Old Priceans, old boys who attended Fareham's Price's Grammar School. It is good to see that the idea has now spread from Fareham to other boroughs' remembrance services".
