The first Suella’s Music Showcase was held at Fareham Academy to great success. Our Member of Parliament, Suella Fernandes presented a host of incredible local artists and performers at the Fareham Conservative Association fundraiser.
The Jazz-Anon band from Warsash playing Jazz numbers to open and close the Music Showcase, with such well known classics like “High Society” and “Muskrat Ramble” they set the pace for the upbeat theme of the evening.
Katie Rogers was another local talent on show at the event; the 27 Year Old Mezzo-Alto from Stubbington sang jazz Classics.
Karen and Friends, a trio led by the Conduction Student Karen Taylor of the University of Surrey. Known locally as the former leader of the Church Choir at the Holy Trinity Church in Fareham, Karen was joined by Surrey Univeristy tutor Maureen Galea and Cellist Elizabeth Lewis.
PanJazz International Steel Orchestra is part of a UK based Charity using music as a vehicle for establishing and supporting communities on a local, national and international basis. The group has had many ensambles in its 15 year history, and has been twice awarded Notting Hill Carnival’s “Best Steel Band on the Road”.
Nathan Cannon from Lee On Solent sang a medley of classic hits. The runner up of Southea’s Got Talent in 2014 is another local talent worthy of praise. Nathan, who attended Fareham’s Henry Cort Secondary School has also had the honour of being the support act for the 1981 Eurovision winners Bucks Fizz in Eastleigh.
