GENESIS youth centre in Locks Heath is a local success story since it was built 20 years ago.
Councillor Keith Evans said: “Young people and Y Services at Genesis have had a fantastic summer with good attendance at a range of enjoyable events put on by Fareham. “The young workers have supported Fareham’s Play Rangers across the district, working alongside youth workers to provide exciting activities for the children; the National Play day, in particular, was fun but hard work.”
Youth clubs have been open all summer making the most of Genesis being a “Pokestop”. They also held a Mayor’s fund raising event and music workshops have been available in the state-of-the-art recording studio Keith Evans and Councillor Susan Bayford are on the Genesis Supervisory Group and said: “The decision by Fareham a few years ago to contract out this youth support work to Y Services has been a real success.” PHOTO: Young people using the selfie studio
